Rowing Coach and local Chris Doherty started his rowing career in 2013 on Lake Leelanau after a friend recommended the sport. Only growing from there, he continued his career at GVSU rowing competitively throughout college. A captain as an upperclassman, Chris had the opportunity to compete across the country including the Head of the Charles, Dad Vail, and San Diego Crew Classic Regattas. The highlight of his racing experience was The Royal Henley Regatta in Great Britain the spring of 2016. Chris recently moved back to the area to continue his career as a physical therapist and looks forward to sharing his rowing experience and growing the sport with TACR.
